Leonidas & Hobbes - Soul Food (Fudge Fingas Remix)

from 'Dawn Chorus - Trouble Remixes Vol. II' EP (HM003) [SYNTH WAVE, DEEP HOUSE] by Various Artists

/

about

Leonidas & Hobbes return, following the success of debut collaboration Machines, Tapes & Electronic Setups with a house cut that's perhaps deeper and more soulful than anything on their debut EP, thanks in part to a tremendous rework by fellow Edinburgh native Fudge Fingas (fellow to Hobbes, that is, as Leonidas lives in London), who adds his own vocal as well as some lush keys and other effects.

Fudge Fingas hardly needs a full introduction, with a very solid international reputation as a result of his ten-year-long (and counting) relationship with Edinburgh's excellent Firecracker label, among others. While Invisible Sister (A1) is perhaps more suited to being played around 2-4am, Soul Food is definitely one of the tracks that inspired this EP's title: Dawn Chorus. It sounds great when the sun is coming up. Try it.
